Artifact: Field Experience
Reflection:
This artifact is my Structured Field Experience Log from ITEC 7410. This artifact was created to document the work that was put into my Shared Vision, SWOT, and Action Plan.
This Field Experience Log demonstrates my ability to engage in field experiences to synthesize and apply the content and professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions in these standards. Field Experiences throughout my program gave me the opportunity to synthesize and apply the knowledge I have learned in a practical way and the outcome was a Shared Vision, SWOT and Action Plan. This particular field experience documents the time spent completing the Shared Vision, SWOT and Action for my school. I had the opportunity to apply what I had learned about what a Shared Vision should be to my own school. I was able to help my school develop a SWOT, which gives strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for the school. While completing this field experience I also synthesized the information I had learned about the school to create an action plan that tells the school what steps they can take to be successful.
This Field Experience in particular was for creating my Shared Vision, SWOT, and Action Plan for ITEC 7410. If I had this field experience to do over again, I would have kept the log better up-to-date as I went along instead of having to go back and try to remember when I did what. This Field Experience log helped me learn a valuable lesson about the logs; It is much easier to take the extra minute to document when you are doing the work then it is to try to remember when you did what.
This artifact will directly impact school improvement and indirectly impact professional development and student learning. The shared vision will guide the direction the school is going in. It has laid out a path that current administration has agreed to follow. This will impact how the school as a whole views technology and its implementation. The SWOT analysis gives the school leaders a plan and tells them exactly where attention needs to be focused. The action/evaluation plan follows the SWOT to give clear directions on how things can improve. The impact of this experience can be assessed through the changes that will come as a direct result of this experience.
