Artifact: Data Inventory
Reflection:
This artifact is my Data Inventory from ITEC 7305. This artifact was designed to give an inventory of all of the assessment uses at Westside Elementary School.
The Data Inventory gave me the opportunity to model and facilitate the effective use of diagnostic, formative, or summative assessments. I was able to use digital assessment tools and resources to measure student learning and technology literacy. The Data Inventory was created to compile list of the assessments and data that Westside is using and what they are using the data for. During the completion of this artifact, I use diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments effectively to determine what types of assessments Westside is using and how it is being used. I also measured student learning and technology literacy through the use of digital tools and resources such as online surveys, technology infused assessments, and programs like Excel.
This artifact gave me the opportunity to really look at the many types of data that are already being used. It also allowed me to see where some changes need to be made regarding the data when it is collected. If I had this experience to do over again, I would have taken it more seriously than I did in the beginning. I should have put more time into it, so that I would have gotten more out of it. It was not until closer to the end of ITEC 7305 that I realized the weight that this artifact carried.
This artifact will impact student learning and school improvement. The impact can be assessed by viewing future school improvement plans that will better incorporate the data that we already have. It can also be assessed through student learning once the Data Team has given recommendations to the faculty to improve student learning based on the data.
