Another semester is drawing to a close. As I reflect on this course, the thing that sticks out most to me is how much I enjoyed this class. I really enjoyed learning about design principles. My favorite assignment was the assignment where we got to use design elements to make a flyer for a school carnival. I found a really great tool called Canva. I have used it for many other things since finding it. I also made a WebQuest during this class. I also decided to take myself out of this "box" that I had myself in as a teacher. Inside this "box" things are "supposed" to be certain ways. I am "supposed" to teach like this, kids are "supposed" to learn like that, administrators are "supposed" to want to see everyone doing the same ways. I finally decided to climb out of the box and I like it. What I have really found is that I was the one who had put myself in the box of the way things are supposed to be. My administrator likes the out of the box me better. I like the out of the box me better. My students do too. Once I opened myself up to the idea that things do not have to look a certain way, I really set myself free.
